DENNIS CARMEN
Dennis is our Region 5 Director.  Originally from Ames, Iowa, Dennis learned to play bridge while watching his parents play rubber bridge with other bridge playing couples.  A member of the ACBL since 1973, Dennis currently sits on the Appeals and Charges Board, along with the Competitions and Masterpoint committees.

His list of volunteer service is too lengthy for this website's bandwidth (kidding, but not by much, he's done so much for bridge), but he's been the President of the Western Michigan Unit's Board and Member of the D12 Board since 1986.  President of Unit 195 for 35 years (!), he has chaired or co-chaired eight ACBL Regional tournaments, been active in mentoring programs, and a bridge teacher to private groups.  He is also an elected trustee to the ACBL Education Foundation (and served on the Education Foundation Board before it was independent of the ACBL).
